Q Please tell us something about Pram progressive Products?
Ans Actually our product involves concept marketing due to it’s unique technical features. The energy saving potential is over 50 to 60%. Our target customers are presently Industrial Projects and commercial establishments where energy consumption is quite high and noticeable differences come after using our products.
We sold few thousands this year but expect to increase it by many folds.
Q What is the growth potential of Param Progressive's products?
Ans There is tremendos potential of growth.Many Govt Organisations have already banned purchase of common Magnetic Chokes . Some deptts have also banned CFL’s! Infact, during the World Energy Congress recently, Mr SP Sethi, Advisor of the Non Conventional Energy Development Organisation, flately criticized the use of CFL’s. The prime reason was that it spoils the “Power quality”.
When you talk of usual Electronic Chokes, the reliability of even the most trusted brands is questionable. Due to this bad experience, many companies hate to even talk about Electronic chokes.
Hence, we see a tremendous potential of growth for our Quality of Product.
Q How does your product differ from others?
Ans We have basically addressed the problems of the users. When the operating range of our Ballasts varies from 50 volts to almost 500 Volts, the question of burning of either the choke or the tube does not arise. Not only this, power consumption by our choke with T8 tube is almost 20 to 25% lower as compared to even T5 tubes + electronic chokes like Bajaj. We offer the most optimal power savings with the usual Lux requirements.
You can regulate the voltage supply through “variable switches/regulator’ and save much more power when bright light is not required .
Q Many customers feel that electronic Chokes reduce the Lumen level. Is it true ?
Ans When you talk of energy saving, ideally one should not alter the Lux value. Many brands of chokes either remain silent on this aspect which should mean similar lux level. But, at the same time, some brands over- emphasise higher Lux level by using their choke + tube system. Here, I differ . Infact, when a customer is using a Lux level and there is no demand for higher lux, one should retain the same value and offer the best saving possibility. We have exactly done the same. We recommend T8 tubes with Tri Phospher Technology which gives the ‘best economy’ on Lux level, cost of replacement of tube as well as life of the tube. It gives better lumen than ‘common tube + common choke’ combination. Presently only Osram and Philips have this Product in the brand names of “Lumilux and Trulite”. I wish more cos come forward with this product.
Q Is there any effect on the life of the Tube by using your Chokes? Why?
Ans Yes , it increases the tube life by over 3 times.
The firing voltage with our chokes is much lower as compared to other electronic chokes. Hence, it provides longer life to the filaments in the tubes.
Q How much is your backup support?
Ans We have full back up support to meet large demands, even at short notice.
Q What are your marketing stategies ?
Ans Marketing is a complex activity. The basic concept behind brand building is to facilitate easy communication with the customers. However, when the brand becomes bigger than the Product, companies start charging higher premiums. I feel that the premiums must be in coherence with quality and value imparted to the customer.
I also advise that the customers should not just blindly pay higher price for certain brands and MUST keep an eye on newer Technology Products rather than shear brand loyality.
Q How much is the Guarantee/Warrantee upon yoyr produtcs.
Ans We give Guarantee and not a Warrantee on our Products. We have Electronic Ballasts for the toughest conditions in India, having upto 10 yrs Guarantee.
Q Is your product costly? What is the ‘Pay back Period’?
Ans We elaborate this with an example to you . Suppose you get a common choke ‘Free of Cost’ with 10 yrs Guarantee, still it is costlier than our choke.
Our choke will save your power consumption from Rs 50 to 90 per month, depending on the usage hrs. Hence, after 6 months you save, from Rs 300 to 540. At the same time, the common choke would have consumed power for Rs 300 to 500. So you see which one is more economic decision?
The payback depends on usage hrs, cost of power, fluctuations in Supply, maintenance cost, whether chokes are used in AC areas etc. The ‘Pay back Period’ decreases with the increasing level of these factors.

Ans For our kind of Products, the most effective method is ‘word of mouth’ on the performance of the Product. However, we have given many live demos to our customers and participated in many technical seminars and presentations across the country.
